Annotated bibliography: teaching with technology (optional)

From occasionally speaking with ESL teachers, I have heard it is often difficult to find classroom resources. A lot of the material available is focused on people teaching students who speak Spanish at home and are working to improve their English skills. The best thing about the selected resources is that they refer to other languages in addition to Spanish. In cities like Indianapolis and larger, there is a very diverse population and the variety of resources is helpful to ESL teachers.

A great way for ESL teachers to work with students is to build on the similarities between their students of diverse backgrounds. Some of the cultural sites on this list are the most effective for this purpose. I especially liked the United Nations Cyberschoolbus and Imooty. These support activities that are conducive to bringing students of diverse backgrounds together. They can discuss current events and cultural events which everyone can relate to.
